Symbols as messages from Spirit, your loved ones and your inner self

Messages from Spirit pop up all the time in our daily lives. Many of them come through in the form of some kind of symbol. A penny on the ground, a song on the radio, even an ad on Facebook or the bus ahead of you at the traffic light.

Not everything you see or hear throughout your day is a message from Spirit. But many things are. It just takes you being willing to notice them when they come up and being curious enough to ask who it might be from.

Messages in the forms of signs and symbols can come from your loved ones in Spirit, from your Spirit guides, from angels and from your own inner self or your intuition. All of these sources of messages want your highest good and are trying to communicate with you in the best way they know how: through symbolic language.

These messages can come through either when life is doing just fine or when you need some reassurance and guidance. When I’m feeling worried about being on the right path, I see repeated numbers everywhere, letting me know that all is well and I need to keep taking steps forward. Or if I’m trying to figure out the solution to something, more often than not, a phrase in a book or newspaper article will jump out at me, or the snippet of song lyrics as the turn on the radio in my car will give me what I need to know right then.

Here are some of the most common forms that Spirit uses to send you messages in this way:

  • Feathers
  • Cloud shapes
  • Coins
  • Animals
  • Songs or music
  • License plates
  • Bumper stickers, billboard signs and bus advertisements
